CocoComp1quest

Below are the goals for my Foundations of College Writing Course.
For each goal, I've selected work that demonstrates how I addressed that goal during the course,
and explained how, citing specific examples from my work.

Goal
My Work
My explanation
Goal A - Students will be able to compose
for particular audiences and purposes

For my multi genre project, I've written a few diary
entries. Instead of writing in the style I normally would,
I had to adjust my writing to make it more conversational,
relevant to current events (corresponding with the date of
the entry), and to speak directly to the reader.
Goal B - Students will be able to compose using
language and conventions appropriate to genre

For my multi genre project, I've written a piece which
reflects the kinds of writing used in professional articles.
This style of writing is generally formal, objective, and
utilizes vocabulary found in scholarly writing.
Goal C - Students will be able to read, select, and use
evidence critically to formulate and support arguments

During our class Literature Circles, I've learned to take
material that I've read, and from that, form a question
about the material that requires critical thinking. This
ensures that comprehension goes beyond the surface
of the text.
Goal D - Students will be able to interpret and compose in
a variety of media and print/non-print genres

Goal E - Students will be able to describe and apply
appropriate writing processes, both individually
and in collaborative contexts
